This Saturday is the beginning of our Fall Bible Conference with Pastor T.W. Teall of Perry Baptist Church, Canton, Ohio. It all starts with a 6pm Carry-in Fellowship Dinner followed by a 7pm service. We will then have the conference focus in all three of our services on Sunday as well as Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7pm. Hope to see you here!

TIME FOR SOME FUNNY STORIES

Pete and Gladys were looking at a new living room suite in the furniture store.
Pete said to the salesman, “We really like it, but I don’t think we can afford it.”
The salesman said, “You just make a small down payment, and then you don’t make another payment for six months.”
Gladys wheeled around with her hands on her hips and said, “Who told you about us?”

Did you hear about the seminary student who was leading the music for a small church. His first Sunday “jitters” became apparent after the choir completed a beautiful special number and, relieved, he turned to the congregation and said, “Let’s all stand and sing, ‘When We All Get to Heaven’ while the choir goes down below.”

Readers of the Dilbert Newsletter, submit True Quotes from the people who put the duh in In-duh-vidual:
“There’s more than one way to peel a cat.”
“That woman uses olive oil like it grows on trees.”
“It’s our golden goose. We better figure out how to make her purr.”
“You are in the top one hundred percent.”
“Is your nephew a boy or a girl?”

One calculus student inquired about the status of her mid-term exam. Upon learning that she had scored 7 points, she asked how many points were possible. “One hundred points,” the professor replied. “Oh, man, that’s like two percent!” she responded in disbelief.

Theme: “Our Holy God and His Healthy Church”

A healthy local church is…

“A Hearing Group of People” (Ps. 19) – Saturday, 7 pm

“A Hungry Group of People” (I Cor. 2 & 3) – Sunday, 9:30 am

“A Hardy Group of People” (Acts 2) – Sunday, 10:45 am & 6 pm

“A Hopeful Group of People” (Heb. 12:18-29) – Mon. & Tues., 7 pm
“Understanding the doctrine of the church is especially important to contemporary North Americans, because their pragmatic approach to church life, their concern to be relevant to their culture, and their desire to see their churches grow leave them vulnerable to the danger that their churches will be shaped more by those concerns than by the design of the Lord of the church.” -Dr. John Hammett
